The Greater Richmond Chorus (GRC) is opening its doors — and its risers — to the public once again for its second annual Holiday Hullabaloo, a free six-week guest program that brings people together to sing, celebrate, and spread harmony throughout the holiday season.

Beginning Thursday, October 30, participants will join GRC members for a series of fun and festive evening rehearsals where they’ll learn three classic holiday songs arranged in dazzling a cappella harmony. The program culminates in a public performance on December 11, when guests and chorus members will sing side-by-side for friends, family, and the Richmond community.

“Holiday Hullabaloo is one of our favorite ways to share the joy of singing,” said GRC Director Vera Crouse. “Whether someone hasn’t sung in years or they’ve never sung a cappella before, this program reminds people how uplifting it feels to create music together.”

All rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings, 6:30–8:15 p.m., at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in South Richmond. No prior experience or audition is required — just a love of singing and a little holiday spirit.

Now in its second year, Holiday Hullabaloo has quickly become a local favorite, offering Richmonders a chance to meet new people, learn new skills, and celebrate the season through music. Reporters and photographers are invited to attend a rehearsal to capture the behind-the-scenes camaraderie and sound of more than 40 voices ringing together in four-part harmony.

“Every week, we see faces light up,” said GRC member Keli Denham. “There’s laughter, learning, and a real sense of community. And by our final performance, everyone is glowing — it’s pure holiday magic.”
